Incline Plane and Gravity Rules

Objective: to reach the finish before your opponents by correctly answering Physics I questions and moving up and across the board.

Organization: The class will be divided into three groups.
Group 1: Peyton, Jake, Eric, and Brooke Chester
Group 2: Brooke Cicero, Christine, and Briana
Group 3: Shivani, Courtney, and Rachel

Materials: One game piece per player (screw), one board per group, two dice per group

Rules: In the order listed above, each player will draw a card from the top of the deck without flipping it over.  After he/she attempts an answer, then the card is flipped over.  If the question is answered correctly, the player will move the number of spaces he/she roles after answering the question.  If a player lands on a space with an inclined plane, he/she must follow the plane to the space where it leads, whether it leads the player up or down on the board.  Inclined planes go both up and down.  If the player lands on the bottom side, he/she goes up.  If a player lands on the top side, he/she goes down.  All players begin the game positioned at the “S” in “START”.  When one player reaches the “F” in “FINISH” or passes it, the game is officially over.  However, players may continue to compete for a second place finish if they so choose.  If no one has reached the finish when time is called, the winner is the player who is closest to the finish on the board.  Second place is the person second closest to the finish, and so on.  Winners will receive one candy item of their choice.  In the event of the tie, players will compete in rock, paper, scissors to determine who gets the prize.

Disputes: If players cannot agree on a ruling to a question or other rules of the game, two rules officials (Conner and Parker) will be present during the playing of the game and will arbitrate any disagreement.
